A retired RV salesman can now enjoy his retirement, and his wife will be able to turn her house cleaning business over to her partner and quit working.  The couple has been living on their Social Security and money earned from the housecleaning partnership.

Our newest millionaire bought the $100 Million Cash Spectacular strictly as a spur-of-the-moment purchase.  He hadn’t bought any Scratchers℠ in almost a year as he didn’t want to spend the extra cash.  Instead, he and his wife play Mega Millions®, Powerball® and The Pick™ on a regular basis.  He happened to be at the Chevron Self Serve located at 10747 Fortuna Dr., Yuma, when he saw the Scratchers ticket and decided to purchase one.  The last time he played the game was several years ago, and he won $1,000, but hasn’t played it since. 

After scratching the ticket when he got home and finding out how much the ticket was worth, our winner literally dropped to his knees.  After calming down and, of course, re-checking the ticket several times over, he called his wife at work.  He had to call her four times before she finally answered the phone, and then she was concerned as he almost never calls her at work. “I told her I have fabulous news, come home right now.”  She said, “Can you wait 15 minutes, we’re almost done with the house.”  He almost shouted at her and said, “No!”  She told her partner she had to leave and rushed home. 

The couple had already decided that if they had a choice of options, they would choose the annuity, as it would be a great supplement to their retirement income. (The $100 Million Cash Spectacular jackpot is annuity-only.)  They also decided not to tell anyone, including their family.  They plan to use their winnings to purchase a new motor home and travel across the United States. “We have kids and grandkids from coast to coast.”
