PHOENIX (Feb. 16, 2010) — A Powerball ticket purchased in Apache Junction for the Feb. 13 drawing is the latest in a string of winning Powerball tickets purchased in the Valley worth $200,000 each for the second prize.
Saturday’s ticket was purchased at the Fry’s Food Store at 185 Apache Trail in Apache Junction, just down the street from the Safeway that sold the $1 million grand prize ticket from the Jan. 4 drawing of the Lottery’s Millionaire Raffle Holiday Edition.
Saturday’s winning Powerball numbers were 10, 14, 30, 40, 51 and the Powerball was 1. The ticket purchased in Apache Junction was one of five nationally to match all five white ball numbers for the second prize.
Less than three weeks ago, a Powerball ticket purchased at the Safeway at 13503 W. Camino del Sol in Sun City West for the Jan. 27 drawing matched the right numbers for the second prize. Three days later, another second prize winning ticket worth $200,000 was drawn; that ticket was purchased at the Circle K at 1850 S. Stapley Dr., in Mesa
“We are excited to have three $200,000 winning Powerball tickets in less than three weeks right here in Arizona,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director for the Arizona Lottery. “Two of the three $200,000 prizes out there are waiting to be claimed, so I would like to urge everyone who participated in those drawings to check their tickets to see if they may be the state’s latest Powerball winners.”
Last week, Thomas Sgro of Sun City West and Roger Singer of Phoenix claimed the prize from the Jan. 27 drawing.
The winning numbers from the Jan. 30 drawing were 6, 26, 35, 47, 48 and the Powerball was 21. That ticket has not yet been claimed.
Because there was no Powerball jackpot winner from Saturday, the jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing climbs to an estimated $40 million.
The drawings are broadcast during the 10 p.m. news on Channel 15 (ABC) in Phoenix, Channel 13 (CBS) in Tucson, and in Spanish on Univision. Powerball is played in 32 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Players can also check their numbers by logging onto arizonalottery.com or by calling the winning numbers hotlines at 480-829-PICK in Phoenix and 1-800-499-3798 in all other Arizona areas.
You must be at least 21 to purchase or redeem tickets. The Arizona Lottery reminds everyone to please play responsibly.
