Powerball Jackpot Raised to $115 Million for Tonight’s Drawing

Strong sales in past week spurred decision to increase jackpot from $107 million

PHOENIX (Feb. 3, 2010) — With additional state lotteries now offering Powerball to their players as of Jan. 31, increased sales have caused the Powerball jackpot for tonight’s drawing to jump by $8 million to an estimated $115 million.

Now, Powerball can lay claim to the largest jackpot prize in the entire nation.

Arizona Lottery retailers across the state are bracing for an influx in Powerball players picking up their tickets in time for tonight’s drawing. The current Powerball jackpot has rolled eight times since returning to the starting $20 million jackpot Jan. 6 after a $25 million Powerball prize was awarded to a single ticket holder in Arkansas from the Jan. 2 drawing.

Powerball tickets for tonight’s drawing can be purchased until 6:59 p.m.
