PHOENIX (May 6, 2010) — A group of 12 who work together in Tucson won the $250,000 second prize from the Mega Millions drawing on May 4—the state’s second $250,000 win since the game was introduced to Arizonans on April 18.
The group, who purchased 60 “Quick Pick” tickets at the D/S Corner Store at 1895 E. Valencia Road in Tucson, said they had been purchasing Mega Millions tickets since it was introduced here last month.
Each member of the winning pool received $14,583.34 after taxes. The winners were:

6. Betty Larsen of Tucson

10. Charles Portillo of Tucson
11. Teresa Vega-Murrieta of Tucson
12. Jaime Yslas of Tucson
The winners declined to be interviewed by the media.
This is the second ticket in recent weeks that has won the second prize by matching all five white ball numbers. Michael Pettigrew of Yuma claimed his $250,000 prize on Monday from the April 27 drawing, saying that he was happy to finally be able to purchase his Mega Millions tickets in Arizona after previously having to travel to California to buy them.
Mega Millions drawings occur on Tuesdays and Fridays. Results can be seen on the 10 p.m. news on Channel 15 (ABC) in Phoenix, Channel 13 (CBS) in Tucson, and in Spanish on Univision Arizona.
