PHOENIX (March 15, 2010) — If you can count out an eight-beat and have the moves to prove it, the Arizona Lottery is hoping you’ll enter a dance contest celebrating the Lottery’s newest music-themed Scratchers® ticket.
The Arizona Lottery Scratch Dance Contest seeks dance enthusiasts who don’t mind showing off their talents in front of a video camera. Contestants will have four opportunities to enter the contest at a series of player appreciation events in the Phoenix metropolitan area between March 15 and 21.
The contest pays homage to the Arizona Lottery’s newest Scratchers ticket, Dollars & Downloads, where players can win cash prizes and free Billboard music downloads after scratching their ticket to reveal prizes that range from $2 to $10,000. The tickets are $2 each and are available wherever Lottery products are sold.
The dance is easy and can be seen demonstrated by the Arizona Lottery Scratch Dancers on Arizona Lottery’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/arizonalottery. Anyone 21 and older can enter at any of the four events below:
March 15, 4-6 p.m.: Fry’s Food Store, 6601 W. Indian School Road, Phoenix
March 17, 4-6 p.m.: Fry’s Food Store, 6080 E. Thomas Road, Scottsdale
March 18, 4-6 p.m.: Fry’s Food Store, 2727 E. Broadway Road, Mesa
March 21, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: U.S. Airways Center Plaza, 201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix
All video entries will be uploaded to youtube.com/arizonalottery for the public to view and rate. A winner will be chosen the week of March 29 by the Arizona Lottery Scratch Dancers. One winner will receive a Nintendo Wii console and a Dance Dance Revolution game package.
