Winning in Spades
Two winners came to the Lottery office and redeemed their $50,000 winning tickets on the Lottery’s Scratchers? ticket, Winning in Spades, on the same day - one from Phoenix and the other from Tempe.
Our Phoenix winner purchased the ticket because it was the 30th ticket in the pack at the counter, and he considers the number 30 to be his lucky number. His winning ticket was purchased at Fry’s Fuel Center, 4220 W. Cactus Rd., Phoenix. He scratched the ticket while on a work break, saw it looked like a winner, and went back to the store to have it scanned.
Our Tempe winner scratched the ticket at the store, realized he had a winner, and went right home and signed the back of the ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at Fry’s Marketplace, 5100 S. McClintock Dr., Tempe. This is the second time he’s won $50,000 on a Scratchers ticket.
When asked what their plans were for their winnings, each had a different take on their priorities. Since our Phoenix winner delivers pizzas, he had purchased a brand new hybrid automobile the week before he won. This win will certainly take some of the stress off of the new car payments. Our Tempe winner hasn’t really decided yet, but will definitely help his parents out financially.
