PHOENIX (Jan. 25, 2011) - A winner has come forward to claim the $1.6 million The Pick™ jackpot from the drawing on Saturday, Jan. 22.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at Circle K located at 9515 E. Golf Links Road in Tucson.
“I was in disbelief, I couldn’t believe we won,” said the winner. “I was reading the paper to check the winning numbers when I found out. My wife is still in awe!”
The couple chose to take the cash option of approximately $941,000. They plan to use their winnings for house renovations on the Tucson home they have lived in for almost 40 years.
“Winning the jackpot is a life changing experience that will dramatically impact the lucky winner and his family,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director of the Arizona Lottery. “The Pick is Arizona’s own jackpot game, so it is especially gratifying when someone claims their prize.”
Winning numbers for The Pick are broadcast Wednesday and Saturday during the 10 p.m. news on Channel 13 (CBS) in Tucson and posted on www.ABC15.com in Phoenix.
Players can check their numbers by logging onto ArizonaLottery.com or by calling the winning numbers hotline at 480-829-PICK in Phoenix and 1-800-499-3798 in all other Arizona areas. Players can also opt-in to receive winning number text alerts for The Pick by texting “AZLOT” to 411247.
