We hear exciting stories and see smiling faces every day as we greet our winners and hand out checks. September was a great month for our players with more than $18 million in prizes!

For Julio Reyna and Kevin Wallace, buying Slingo® Trio tickets were spur-of-the-moment purchases that resulted in each winning the $50,000 top prize. 

Julio was with his mother at Jacks Market & Liquor located at 4286 W. Thomas Road in Phoenix.  She purchased some Scratchers tickets, including Slingo® Trio, so he decided he’d try it as well.

Julio waited until he got home to scratch his ticket.  Even though he saw the amount of $50,000, he found it hard to believe.  His win only became real to him when he took it to the Arizona Lottery’s Phoenix office.

In Julio’s family, playing Scratchers is pretty much a family affair. Although the rest of the family also play Powerball™, The Pick™ and Mega Millions™, now that he’s gotten a taste of playing Scratchers, Julio said he’ll probably play again.

Kevin had played Slingo® Trio before and never won anything.  But while standing in line at the Circle K at 18442 N. Tatum Blvd. in Phoenix, the person in front of him bought some, so he bought one ticket for himself. 

Once he scratched his ticket, and he only purchases Scratchers occasionally, Kevin didn’t have any problem believing he was a winner.

Kevin plays Powerball and Mega Millions on a regular basis, but now that he’s won with Scratchers, he probably will also play them often, too.

Neither one of our winners had any special plans for their winnings except to put them away for future needs.
