HOW TO PLAY

Powerball® is a multi-state jackpot game with a jackpot starting at $20 million and growing until someone wins.

You have three ways to pick your numbers:

1. Choose Quick Pick and let the computer select your numbers for you.

2. Choose your own numbers and mark them on the selection slip. Pick five white numbers (1 through 59), plus one red Powerball number (1 through 39).

3. Choose just white numbers or just the red Powerball number and Quick Pick the other number(s). You can play Powerball for up to 10 consecutive drawing dates on the same ticket. Just tell the retailer at the time of purchase or mark the multi-draw box on your selection slip.

HOW TO WIN

Powerball has nine winning ball combinations. The more numbers you choose that match the numbers drawn, the more you win. If other players also match the six winning jackpot numbers, you’ll share the prize pool with them in equal amounts.

Overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are approximately 1 in 35.1

 * If other players also match all six numbers, you'll share the prize with them in equal amounts.

POWER PLAY

Multiply your winnings with Power Play®. For an extra $1 per game, you can multiply your winnings* up to five times based on a number from two to five randomly selected at draw time. Any player who purchases the Power Play option and matches all 5 of the white ball numbers will automatically win five times the Match 5 prize.

Mark the Power Play box or ask the cashier for the Power Play option.

*Power Play does not apply to the jackpot or Match 5 Bonus Prizes.

MATCH 5 BONUS PRIZE

When the Powerball jackpot reaches a new level—higher than it’s ever been before—the jackpot will increase by just $25 million each draw until it is won.

If sales exceed the $25 million per drawing increase, the additional money will be deposited into a Match 5 Bonus pool. It will grow with each drawing until the jackpot prize is won.

When the jackpot is won, all Match 5 Bonus winners for that drawing will automatically receive their $200,000 prize and an equal share of the money in the Match 5 Bonus pool.

If a Match 5 Bonus winner is also a Power Play winner, the $200,000 portion of the prize will be increased five times. (The winner’s share of the Match 5 Bonus pool is NOT multiplied.)

PAYMENT OPTIONS

If you win the jackpot, you have 60 days to choose either a 30-year annuity or a lump-sum cash payment of approximately half the amount of the announced jackpot. If you do not select cash or annuity within the 60 days, your prize will be paid as an annuity.
All sales are final. Drawing game tickets cannot be voided. Drawing prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing.

Powerball sales stop at 7:59 p.m. Arizona time from the first Sunday in November through the second Saturday in March and at 6:59 p.m. Arizona time from the second Sunday in March through the first Saturday in November.

See the Winning Numbers — Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday evening. Tune into KNXV ABC 15 in Phoenix, KOLD News 13 in Tucson, or Univision Arizona at approximately 10:25 p.m. (The Arizona State Lottery official audited records of the numbers that were drawn will determine the winner rather than the numbers televised or published on the web.)
