Community Sponsorship Program

Arizona Lottery
Sponsorship Mission Statement

While the Arizona Lottery strives to maximize revenue for state programs, our passion is making Arizona a better place to live. Our goal is to partner with organizations that help people in need, improve healthcare and education, protect our natural resources, and elevate all 15 counties throughout Arizona. Our partnerships reflect the wide variety of interests, cultures, and hope of the people of our state.

Sponsorships in FY12 included:  Ballet Arizona - Ballet under the Stars (top left), Korean Cultural Center - Arirang Festival (top right), Homeward Bound - Step Forward Breakfast (center), Arizona Science Center - Static Electricity Demonstration (bottom left),  and MADD - Walk Like MADD (bottom right).

Sponsorships will no longer be awarded for this fiscal year. Please check back mid-June for the new application form for events starting July 1, 2013.  Organizations can still apply for an auction/raffle item.

The Arizona Lottery looks for opportunities to create a lasting presence in communities across the state. We focus on four key areas: education, health and public welfare, the environment, and economic/business development. We prefer to provide funding for named scholarships, awards, specific programs, or other sustaining initiatives.

1. Sponsorship amounts range from $100 to $4,500. In return for sponsorships, the Arizona Lottery must receive measurable value (see application form for details). Multiple requests may be submitted, but organizations are limited to a single approved sponsorship annually.

The Arizona Lottery sponsors events in two different ways: monetary or merchandise sponsorships. Monetary sponsorships range from $100-$4,500 and merchandise sponsorships are intended for silent auctions, raffles, event attendee giveaways, or door prizes. To be considered for either of these sponsorships, the event must:

♦  be located in the state of Arizona,

♦  involve participants who are at least 21 years of age, and

♦  be open to the general public (individual requests or family/reunions cannot be considered).

The Arizona Lottery reserves the right to accept or deny any requests based on its own internal evaluation of the sponsorship's conformance to these criteria as well as its potential for maximizing the Arizona Lottery's promotional investment and branding.

The Arizona Lottery’s evaluation process for sponsorships focuses on how well a proposal fulfills the following criteria:

♦ Alignment – How well the event aligns with one of our state pillars of focus( education, health and public welfare, the environment, and economic/business development).

♦ Audience – The Lottery evaluates the size and demographics of the audience and the likelihood of appreciation of the Arizona Lottery’s involvement and messaging.

♦ Assets – What marketing opportunities (logo recognition, print ads, banners, premium distribution, website mention, public address mention, programs, invites, etc.) or other tangible items of value are being offered to recognize the Arizona Lottery’s sponsorship?

2. Walks or runs with past registrations of at least 250 participants will be considered.

3. Golf tournaments and other sporting events are not eligible for sponsorships. We encourage such organizations to apply for a merchandise sponsorship instead.
