Growing Mega Millions, Powerball and The Pick Jackpots Help to Generate Record Returns for Arizona Lottery Beneficiaries

The Arizona Lottery to give back a record $220 million in FY2019!

The State of Arizona is getting more money from the Arizona Lottery to fund vital programs and services than ever before, a projected $220 million in FY2019, thanks to our players and valued retail partners.

In fact, more than a dozen state-run programs that benefit residents across Arizona, from the higher education infrastructure built and maintained by the Board of Regents, to the habitat acquired by the Heritage Fund to protect and promote our unique and iconic wildlife, are among those benefitting from this record return to our beneficiaries.

“This is great news for all of Arizona as we are all winners with the Lottery,” Executive Director Gregg Edgar said, “The money raised, through Lottery ticket sales, goes to fund critical services for the people of Arizona. These include Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, who speak for abused and neglected children in court, and the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force, tirelessly seeking out internet predators to protect our kids from online exploitation.”

This is the second consecutive year of record returns for the Arizona Lottery, which gave back nearly $212 million last year, totaling almost $4.2 billion to worthy programs since the lottery began almost 38 years ago. Furthermore, this number may get even bigger as excitement builds for Mega Millions and Powerball, with combined jackpots of $743 million, and Arizona’s own draw game, The Pick, with one of its largest jackpots ever up for grabs - $14.4 million!

And don’t forget Triple Twist, the Arizona Lottery’s newest draw game, that recently saw its first jackpot winner - a massive $1.9 million prize taken home to Tucson.

Additionally, with Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots climbing to a total of almost three quarters of a billion dollars and The Pick jackpot hitting near-record levels, players should think about playing all three draw games by asking their retailer for a Trio. For $5 they will receive one Mega Millions, one Powerball and one The Pick ticket. Players can purchase Mega Millions, Powerball, The Pick and Triple Twist at all Arizona Lottery retailers.
