The Arizona Lottery Partners with Local First Arizona to Support Arizona’s Small Businesses

The 16th Annual Fall Festival returns to Phoenix’s Margaret T. Hance Park in November

PHOENIX (Oct 20, 2022) —  The Arizona Lottery has partnered with Local First Arizona to fund more than 30 small businesses needing support to participate in Local First Arizona’s 16th annual “Fall Festival” event.

The Fall Festival is the state’s largest certified local event and is back after a three-year hiatus. It is a celebration of all things Arizona, connecting people, entertainers, and more than 200 community businesses in a family-friendly and dog-friendly atmosphere that is free to attend. This year’s festival will take place at Margaret T. Hance Park in Downtown Phoenix on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

“One of the key areas Lottery funding supports is Economic Development, so we are excited to help Local First Arizona in its mission to strengthen, support, and celebrate entrepreneurship throughout the state,” Arizona Lottery Executive Director Gregg Edgar said. “The Arizona Lottery takes great pride in being able to provide a stepping stone for local businesses in their journey to success.”

A few of the businesses the Arizona Lottery’s sponsorship is supporting during the Fall Festival are, The Spaghetti Shack, Me Soy Happy Candle Co & More, Arizona Zipline Adventures, Fetch Concepts LLC, Maricela’s Magical Creations and DanceWise Dance Studio.

Funding from the Arizona Lottery is helping these small businesses by creating awareness for their brands, and even positively influencing their profits.

“We operate on very thin margins and we are a small small business, currently we are not profitable,” said Raquel Huerta owner of Fetch Concepts LLC. “We feel being present in community events like this will help future customers want to shop with us the next time they are in need of pet food.”

The 16th annual Arizona Fall Festival will host more than 200 vendors representing Arizona’s favorite local businesses and restaurants. Activities will include:

  • Beverage Garden featuring Arizona wineries, breweries, and spirit makers
  • Dozens of food trucks and local restaurants to sample tasty bites and treats
  • Games and entertainment provided by professional teams
  • A silent auction with more than 100 local gifts, staycations, and Arizona experiences
  • A kid zone filled with crafts, games, and activities
  • A free goodie bag for the first 300 attendees filled will with local surprises
  • Amazing local musical entertainment to keep the festival movin’ and groovin’
  • And much, much more!

“The Fall Festival is a long-time, fan-favorite event for locals and visitors alike,” said Thomas Barr, Vice President of Business Development for Local First Arizona. “There truly is no event of its kind where you can experience and sample some of the best that Arizona has to offer. It’s a wonderful way to get to know the local community.”
