The Lottery and the State Employee Charitable Campaign Raise $25,000 for Local Businesses
PHOENIX (February 13, 2024) – The Arizona Lottery is proud to announce its recent funding of 47 non-profit organizations around the state. In partnership with the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC), the Lottery provided a $25,000 dollar-for-dollar match for pledges to charities that are Arizona-based, and that provide services to address housing, homelessness, or food relief.
“We are proud to partner with the State Employee Charitable Campaign and to be able to support local non-profits and all of the hard work that they do,” said Arizona Lottery CEO Alec Thomson. “This dollar-for-dollar match continues the Lottery’s long-standing history of supporting Health and Human Services efforts.”
Each year, the Lottery provides millions of dollars from ticket sale proceeds to ensure access to housing and necessities. Last fiscal year, the Arizona Lottery provided $33 Million to health and human services programs to support Arizona's most vulnerable populations, including children and families experiencing homelessness. This partnership with SECC is an extension of this mission.
“SECC is grateful for the generous donation from the Arizona Lottery Gives Back program,” said SECC Executive Director Linda Stiles. “Through their support, they have helped our state employees in their effort to make a real and lasting difference in the community. We appreciate their support and echo the gratitude felt by the non-profits and those that they serve.”
With the help of the Arizona Lottery $25,000 dollar-for-dollar match, SECC surpassed its annual goal of $750,000 by raising $783,000. To commemorate this successful campaign, today, representatives from the Lottery and SECC visited the top three donation recipients from the campaign; Child Crisis Arizona, St. Mary’s Food Bank, and Mulligan’s Manor.
