Arizona Lottery Partners with Phoenix Children’s Foundation to Support Homeless Youth Outreach

$50,000 from the Arizona Lottery will be used to provide comprehensive healthcare for vulnerable youth in the Valley

PHOENIX (Sept. 25, 2024) — The Arizona Lottery, in partnership with Phoenix Children's Foundation, is proud to announce a $50,000 sponsorship to support Phoenix Children’s Homeless Youth Outreach (HYO) program. The funding will help HYO continue to provide comprehensive medical and behavioral health care services to vulnerable children and at-risk youth throughout the Valley.

The HYO program by Phoenix Children's Foundation has been instrumental in providing access to free, holistic healthcare to children and families experiencing homelessness. Through its various programs, mobile medical units, and fixed-site clinics in shelters, schools, and residential facilities, the HYO program serves nearly 2,000 unique children annually.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Phoenix Children's Foundation on this initiative," said Chris Rogers, Chief Marketing Officer of the Arizona Lottery. "This partnership will help the Foundation grow its impact for Arizona youth, building on over two decades of work to provide hope and healthcare to homeless children and a tangible impact in communities throughout the Valley.”

This partnership eases the burden on state-funded programs by directly providing vital housing and resources to youth who would otherwise rely on state funding. Since 2007, the Arizona Lottery has transferred over $16 million to support homeless services throughout the state's central region. With this new sponsorship from the Arizona Lottery, Phoenix Children's Foundation aims to intervene earlier, decrease adverse health outcomes, and help children in foster care and beyond become the happiest and healthiest versions of themselves. The Lottery's contributions will enhance the healthcare services provided to homeless youth.

"This collaboration with the Arizona Lottery is a significant step towards addressing the health needs of homeless youth in our state," said Dr. Sarah Beaumont, Medical Director, Phoenix Children’s Foundation Homeless Youth Outreach. "Through contributions from valued partners like the Lottery, we aim to create a safe haven where children and youth can receive the support they need to overcome challenges and thrive."

The Arizona Lottery is committed to supporting programs that benefit the public, including higher education, environmental conservation, economic development, and health and human services. By responsibly maximizing revenue, the Lottery ensures that its contributions have a positive and lasting impact on the community. This partnership with Phoenix Children's Foundation aligns with the Lottery's mission to improve the lives of Arizonans and make a difference where it matters the most.
